Get Samsung Health data to your server
Samsung Health data can reach your backend through Health Connect and HC Sync when users enable sync and grant permissions. Samsung’s FAQ says Health Connect synchronization is supported from Samsung Health version 6.22.5, released in October 2022. HC Sync uploads the records your Android app can read and exposes REST access.

How does the Samsung partner route work?
Samsung describes its Health Data SDK as giving partners access to data from the Samsung Health app, Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring. The page sends interested developers to a "Request Partnership" form. If you are a larger company and want that relationship, it is the direct path. If you are a small team that wants steps and sleep this month, it is a lot of process.
How does the Health Connect route work?
Samsung Health has synchronized data with Health Connect since version 6.22.5 (October 2022). Samsung's FAQ lists activity data (steps and exercise), heart rate and sleep. Samsung's developer blog adds a longer table that includes weight, blood oxygen, nutrition and VO2max, and notes that the synced scope can change with the Samsung Health version. Galaxy Watch data reaches the phone first, then Health Connect.
Two caveats from that blog. The user has to turn sync on in Samsung Health under Settings, Health Connect, and grant read and write access. And it states that Samsung Health's activity tracker data is not synchronized with Health Connect.
How does HC Sync fit into the integration?
- Your Android app adds the HC Sync library and asks the user for Health Connect permissions.
- The library backfills 30 days, then uploads only changes.
- Your server reads the data with a secret key.
curl "https://hcsync.dev/v1/summary?user_id=u_123&days=7&tz=Europe/London" \ -H "authorization: Bearer $HCSYNC_READ_KEY"
Because the source is Health Connect, the same code also covers other apps that write there. You do not need an agreement with Samsung.
What does HC Sync provide?
- REST:
GET /v1/summaryfor daily totals,GET /v1/recordsfor raw records,GET /v1/usersfor sync status. - Signed webhooks on every sync, with retry and replay.
- An MCP server, if you want an AI agent to read the data.
What limits apply?
- Android only. Health Connect does not exist on iOS.
- You see what Samsung Health chooses to write to Health Connect, not everything inside Samsung Health.
- Data arrives when the phone syncs, so it is not real time.
How much does HC Sync cost?
Free for 5 synced users. Starter is $29 a month for 100 users, Indie $149 for 1,000, Studio $299 for 20,000.
How can you try it without a phone?
POST /v1/sample-data loads a week of sample data for a test user, so you can call the REST API before you write any Android code. Check your setup or get free keys.

What else should you know?
Does HC Sync work on iPhone?
Not yet. Health Connect is Android. Apple HealthKit is next if you ask for it.
How do I delete a user’s data?
DELETE /v1/users/{id} removes everything for that user immediately.
Where is data stored?
Records are stored in the US and deleted after 13 months.
